Free Sea Turtle Knitting Pattern!

I’m so excited that my first published pattern was in the (web)pages of Knitty magazine! Knitty was my introduction to high quality free patterns when I was broke college student.

Back in the day before GPS was on everyone’s phones, I would Google all of the yarn stores I could reach by bus and print out the directions. Once I learned how to get to Joann’s Fabrics and Michaels, I would go every couple of weeks to pick up items for my new projects. When I didn’t have the time to make it out there, I would comb the pages of Knitty for things that I could make with my existing supplies.

Knitty had the first few high quality toy patterns that I found. Ten years ago there wasn’t a MochiMochiLand or a Rebecca Danger. There were the five things in Knitty (including Woodins!) and Debbie Bliss. Don’t get me wrong; I’m glad to have had those because they launched my own journey into knitting stuffed animals. But I’m also glad to see there’s a much larger pool to pick from today. And I’m glad I get to add my designs to it.

If you haven’t already, click the link to check it out on Knitty.

Until next time, happy knitting!
